Elizabeth Armstrong known as Liz is a well known curator who has most recently served as JoAnn McGrath Executive Director of the Palm Springs Art Museum from 2015 thru September 2018, when she will be leaving her position.
She was previously the first contemporary arts curator at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) from 2008 to 2014, where she commissioned major works by Mark Dion and Jennifer Steinkamp.
Before that Liz served as acting director, chief curator, and deputy director of the Orange County Museum of Art, as well as senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego. For 14 years, she was a curator at Minneapolis’s Walker Art Center.
