William H. Ahmanson is Vice Chair of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and President of The Ahmanson Foundation, founded by financier Howard F. Ahmanson and his wife, Dorothy Grannis Ahmanson in 1952. The assets of the foundation came from the success of H. F. Ahmanson & Co., an insurance company that became the foremost fire underwriter in California and the creation of Home Savings of America, the country's largest savings and loan association for many years.
