This piece was created for the exhibition CHINA: June 4, 1989 mounted by Asian American Arts Centre in NY in response to the student uprising in Tiananmen Square. It was censored by the US Senate and not shown in the Russell Rotunda in 1990 for the memorial to celebrate the escaped from China of two student leaders, Chai Ling and Wang Dan.
